Those who know Rick & Andrea Carpitcher know them for their warm personality and an undeniable passion for God. Rooted in deep faith, this husband and wife team is dedicated to deliver the message of Christ through song and heartfelt testimony. The music of the Carpitchers is sincere and uplifting, and their presentation is sure to bring a smile to gospel music lovers of all styles and ages!
Andrea Carpitcher's love for gospel music began at a young age. Her early days were spent traveling with her family as her father ministered among his Native people. It was during these tender years that she accepted Christ into her heart. Her love for harmony and blend was influenced by her mother and later from groups such as the Nelons and the Hoppers. While attending college, she began singing with various groups in the region and winning talent competitions. Some notable First place wins include The Annual Seminole Gospel Singing and Crabbfest. Over the years, she has appeared alongside Gospel music’s finest such as The Crabb Family, Karen Peck & New River, and Michael English.
Andrea's husband Rick is not new to gospel music either. At an early age, he began honing his talents behind the piano at his home church where his father was pastor. Rick would later travel with regional groups, but it was in the fall of 2001 that his full-time break came. After a small stint with the New Hinsons, Rick began touring with the nationally known Toney Brothers Quartet where he was pianist for many years. During his tenure, Rick shared the stage with notable groups such as Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, the Dove Brothers, and Gold City. In late 2006, Rick & Andrea formed the group known as Native Witness and the two were wed in 2007. They would perform later as "The Carpitchers."
At the 2010 National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, Andrea competed and placed 1st out of 52 contestants in the annual talent competition. She was honored to perform on the Mainstage of the convention later that week. A recording agreement with Chapel Valley Music followed shortly after her appearance. Andrea released her debut album titled "He Believes In Me" in June of 2011 and her first single "Peace In The Midst Of The Storm" continues to be aired on gospel radio throughout the nation.
When not traveling and singing, Andrea's passion for helping people is evident by working in Hospice care as a Director of Nursing. Rick continues to do session work as well as travel part-time with his friends Forgiven Quartet from Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Both Rick & Andi (as her friends know her) share a unique heritage in that they are both Native American. They make their home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and have three children. Both enjoy working in the worship team at their home church – 29:Eleven Church (First Assembly of God – Tahlequah.)
